Persons with Epilepsy face a lot of challenges which include, physical, emotional, and psychological due to the environment they live in. KAWE is determined to empower these people by creating awareness in the community through various groups such as Community Health Care Workers, Medical Practitioners, and local administrations. KAWE also works in handy with the Ministry of Health to ensure that People with Epilepsy (PWE) access quality and affordable medical care, and the Ministry of Education in creating epilepsy awareness in schools to eradicate stigma in the learning institutions.

Through partnerships, lobbying and advocacy, KAWE is able to economically empower persons with epilepsy and their caregivers through livelihoods and food relief programs. PWEs are usually outlined in the employment industries due to the assumption that they cannot deliver in their work. However, when the seizures are well managed using the anti-seizure medication, they are able to perform a lot of jobs that might not need any supervision. KAWE has therefore empowered them with skills and businesses which include, cattle rearing, pig and poultry farming, and small businesses such as grocery stores, salons, peanut and honey making, and acquired skills for making clothes using a sewing machine.
